Fremont Family YMCA Spring 2024 Flag Football Season
Description: Spring Flag Football program focuses on teaching fundamentals, sportsmanship and teamwork through games and practices. The six-week long program will include an official NFL Flag Football reversibile jersey and a set of flags to keep. A individual/team photo and the chance to play at Heedum Field. Each team will have one practice a week and one game on Saturday.

Season: April 6th - May 11, Play healthy days April 20th

Registration: Tuesday, February 13th - Monday, March 11th 
Fees: Member: $80/Non-member: $110       
Who: Grades Pre-K-6th grade (Must be at least 5 years old by the first game)
When: Games will be on Saturdays (morning-mid-day) 
Where: Clamar Fields "Championship": Heedum Field

League Description:
• Grades Pre-Kindergarten-6th Grade (Must be at least 5 years old).
• Games will consist of 5v5 and approximately 7-10 players per team (Team size will also be dictated by total sign-ups).
• Coaches will coordinate with parents a time and location to practice once per week.
• The league is focused on teaching the kids the basic fundamentals of football in a safe manner.
• Certain rules may be altered depending on the coach's preference and the ages played.
• Kids will receive an official NFL Flag Football reversible jersey and a set of flags to keep.

Fremont Family YMCA 2024 Volleyball Season

Season: April 6th - May 11, Play healthy days April 20th

Youth Volleyball is a low pressure way to help your kids develop their volleyball skills. The skills will include motor skills, teamwork, communication, and other social skills while learning about the fun of volleyball in a safe fashion. The eight-week long program will include a shirt, end of the season reward, and individual/team photo. Each team will have one practice a week and one game on Saturday.

Registration: Feb 13th through March 11th
Fees: Member: $60/Non-member: $80    
Who: Grades 1st-6th grade (boys & girls)
When: Practice: 45 minutes to 1 hour long - Games: Saturdays mornings/afternoons
Where: Fremont Family YMCA Sidner Courts 1,2, & 3

Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6-7pm, May 14th - June 4th

Taught by Juan “Tony” Nevarez

Training will include Squats, Bench, and Deadlifts.

Squat: always starting with safety, followed by basics of movement, followed by demonstration and evaluation of class individually.

Bench: start with safety, followed by basics of movement, followed by demonstration and evaluation of class individually.

Deadlift: start with safety, followed by basics of movement, followed by demonstration and evaluation of class individually.

Once the individual has shown proficiency in beginners coarse more in-depth and advanced courses could be taken.

The safety of each lift will be strongly enforced due to the difficulty of each of the lifts. This will be demonstrated and talked about in detail and is how every class will start. The importance of proper form will be shown and spoken about.

Each class will roughly be as follows: Safety talk, why it is important to lift safely. The form is the next topic, how form can affect or not affect how well you lift. Demonstration of lift and multiple variations, not everyone is built the same. Class performs lift first as a whole then individually to make sure that each person is able to grasp the importance of proper form.

The beginner class should be only an hour at most. The advanced classes will have to be longer and have a smaller cap for the number of participants. Max 7.
