MORE THAN A GYM...
Throughout the year the Fremont Family YMCA hosts a variety of events for the community. Upcoming events include the YMCA Open House on January 5 from 1pm-4pm. These, and our other events, are part of our mission to make Fremont a STRONGER community.
The YMCA is more than a gym, it's a community!
Active Older Adults Health Fair
The first annual Active Older Adult Health Fair sponsored by the Fremont Family YMCA and Fremont Audiology and Hearing Clinic will be held on February 7, from 8am-Noon. This event will be held on the indoor tennis courts, will be free and will be open to the public.
The goal of the health fair is to provide attendees with the most up-to-date information about local options for healthcare, financial planning, estate planning and more. The event will include health fair booths, half hour informational break out sessions, health screenings, and demonstrations. Our
monthly AOA potluck will follow the event.
As a health fair partner, you can choose to run a booth, host a break-out session, or both. Each booth space will fit a 6 ft. table and two chairs. The 30 minutes break-out sessions will be held in either the Tennis Instructional Room or the Field Turf Party Room. The number of time slots available for the break out sessions will be limited, so don’t delay in reserving your space. The registration deadline is Thursday, January 30.
Active Older Adult Pot Luck
The YMCA hosts an AOA Potluck at 11:30 a.m. generally on the second Friday each month. We ask that if you will be attending that you bring something to share with the others, and your own table service. Everyone is welcome! Great food and fellowship! Please watch for fliers at the YMCA or follow the Fremont Family YMCA on Facebook for detailed information on future AOA pot lucks.
Make plans to attend the Active Older Adults Health Fair from 8a.m.-12 noon and then join us for the February potluck which will begin shortly after 12 p.m. Home Instead will be serving some stick-to-your-ribs pasta. What better to eat for a winter lunch? After lunch, you will put your creative hats on and make a Valentine. It will be easy and fun!
Please feel free to bring a guest – all are welcome to enjoy good food, fellowship and fun!

Alex Lamme Run
Join us for the 6th Annual Alex Lamme St. Patrick's Day Dash on Saturday, March 21st at 11 am!
This event, which takes place at the Christensen Family YMCA Camp in Fremont honors the life of Alex Lamme, a 1993 graduate of Fremont High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Nebraska where he excelled in both track and cross country. All proceeds of the event go to the Alex Lamme Award for UNL track and field athletes, FHS track and/or basketball scholarships and the Fremont Family YMCA youth programs.
Jump into a fun, fast and flat 5k that'll take you on a course with sections of grass and pavement, or join in the 1 mile family walk! With these two options, there's something for everyone of any age or ability.
Each participant will receive t-shirt (guaranteed if registered by March 12), chip-timed results, on-course and finish line photography, post-race food and drink and a great way to celebrate Alex's life and his favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day.
We encourage everyone to ‘green up’ for the occasion and wear your very best Irish garb.
