MORE THAN A GYM...
Throughout the year the Fremont Family YMCA hosts a variety of events for the community. Upcoming events include the Active Older Adults Health Fair on Friday, February 7, and the Alex Lamme St. Patrick's Day Dash on Saturday, March 21. These, and our other events, are part of our mission to make Fremont a STRONGER community.
The YMCA is more than a gym, it's a community!
Active Older Adult Pot Luck
The YMCA hosts an AOA Potluck at 11:30 a.m. generally on the second Friday each month. We ask that if you will be attending that you bring something to share with the others, and your own table service. Everyone is welcome! Great food and fellowship! Please watch for fliers at the YMCA or follow the Fremont Family YMCA on Facebook for detailed information on future AOA pot lucks.
Alex Lamme St. Patrick's Day Dash
Join us for the 6th Annual Alex Lamme St. Patrick's Day Dash on Saturday, March 21st at 11 am!
This event, which takes place at the Christensen Family YMCA Camp, honors the life of Alex Lamme. Lamme was a 1993 graduate of Fremont High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he excelled in both track and cross country. All proceeds of the event go to the Alex Lamme Award for UNL track and field athletes, to FHS track and/or basketball scholarships and to the Fremont Family YMCA for youth programs.
Jump into a fun, fast and flat 5k that'll take you on a course with sections of grass and pavement, or join in the 1 mile family walk! With these two options, there's something for everyone of any age or ability.
Each participant will receive t-shirt (guaranteed if registered by March 12), chip-timed results, on-course and finish line photography, post-race food and drink and a great way to celebrate Alex's life and his favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day.
We encourage everyone to ‘green up’ for the occasion and wear your very best Irish garb.
Healthy Kids Day
Healthy Kids Day will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 8:30am until noon. More information will be available in early Spring.
Daddy Daughter Prom
The 2020 Daddy Daughter Prom will take place on Friday, April 3, at the Midland Event Center.
This event is for dads and daughters (Kindergarten through 5th grade – NO ACCEPTIONS!). If dad is not available, another male is welcome.
THE EVENING CONSISTS OF . . .A Grand March (guests are welcome to attend Grand March but must leave immediately after), a catered dinner, and a DJ to provide music for the dance. Each girl gets a goodie bag before she leaves that will contain her t-shirt and other fun items.
ATTIRE FOR THE EVENING – This evening is meant to be special for both dad and daughter. Dads – please wear clothing that shows your daughter she’s important to you (please, no jeans or t-shirts). Daughters – church attire is appropriate. If you would like to, you can both dress according to the theme.
This fun, annual event takes place annually on Thanksgiving morning (before your Thanksgiving Feast!)
There will be 2 and 5 mile runs, and a 1 mile family walk.
