JOE BAUER ^ JANUARY 2021
The Fremont Family YMCA would like to recognize and thank our Y employee, Joe Bauer. Joe works full time for the Fremont Police Department, and on his days off, he drives bus routes for the YMCA's Before/After School Care Program. He inspects the bus before and after each route and always keeps up on all maintenance. He is committed to the safety and wellbeing of the children he transports, as well as our community overall. Joe is responsible, trustworthy, and dependable. He has worked at the YMCA since November 2019. We are blessed to have Joe as part of our YMCA community!

JANUARY 2020 ^ AUSTIN MORA
Congratulations to Austin Mora, the January YMCA Employee of the Month! Austin is a passionate, fun-loving employee. He has been with the Fremont Family YMCA for 2 years and has worn many hats. He has worked in the wellness center, as a personal trainer, as a youth sports performance trainer, and as a front desk manager. He is an upbeat person that cares about our members. He is great with the youth and with our active older adults. Thanks, Austin for your hard work and the fun personality that you have brought the YMCA. We wish you the best of luck, and we will miss you!
FEBRUARY 2020 ^ ANNA ANKERSEN
Thank you, Anna Ankersen, for your commitment to keeping the YMCA clean and safe as a member of our housekeeping staff! Anna has been with the housekeeping department at the YMCA for approximately 8 months. She is an asset in all areas of the building. She is always willing to help out with extra duties when needed and also is ready with a welcome smile. We are grateful for all of our employees at the YMCA but would love to give a special shout out to the members of our housekeeping team who diligently maintain our facilities to high sanitary standards. Thank you Anna for being a part of our YMCA community! We appreciate all that you do.

The YMCA would like to thank our childcare worker, Elizabeth Smith, for her dedication to providing safe and loving care to our Y Kids! Elizabeth has worked in the Y-Care for almost four years. She arrives bright and early (6 am) with a smile! She is always willing to take on extra duties without complaint. She arrives on time and is extremely dependable. She is kind and patient with kids and develops creative and fun ideas to engage them in learning. Elizabeth an all-around wonderful employee and a huge asset to our team. We are proud to have her as part of our amazing Y Staff!
APRIL 2020 ^ REQUITA KEELER
Requita has been a rock star as we have navigated the uncharted issues posed by COVID - the facility closing, emergency child care, cancellations of programs, and many more. Requita has taken on new challenges and roles with a beautiful smile on her face. Requita brings a bright, energetic personality to our front desk. Through the ups and downs of customer service and through the unknowns during this pandemic, Requita has gone above and beyond! We are truly blessed to have her as an employee!
MAY 2020 ^ MALLORY YOUNG
The Fremont Family YMCA would like to thank Mallory Young for blessing our YMCA community with your gifts and talents! Mallory has worked at the FFYMCA for almost a year in our Before and After School program, in our Wellness Center, and in the Summer Fun Club kitchen. She is very dependable and always willing to chip in whenever and wherever necessary. Mallory has really embraced keeping the Y clean and safe for our members in the Wellness Center, especially during COVID. She knows which machines members like to use and is diligent in keeping them clean. Some of our older members with walking canes can't carry the spray bottle and towel, so Mallory will go and clean off the machine for them. Thank you, Mallory, for going above and beyond to make our community a better place for members and staff! We appreciate you!
JUNE 2020 ^ CHRISTY CONRAD
The Fremont Family YMCA would like to thank group fitness instructor, Christy Conrad, for her dedication to the Y, and for her POSITIVITY! Christy has been a fitness instructor for the past 22 years and currently teaches BODYPUMP, Spin, Kickboxing, and Barre classes. During the time the YMCA was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, Christy taped workout videos in her basement and posted them on the YMCA's YouTube Channel so our members had access to classes from their homes. When we re-opened, Christy volunteered her time to work in the Wellness Center until we had enough staff to cover all of the shifts. Christy goes above and beyond to make our YMCA STRONG. Thank you, Christy! We are so proud to have you as part of our YMCA COMMUNITY.
JULY 2020 ^ ANDRA BERHOW
Congratulations to Andra Berhow, the July YMCA Employee of the Month! Andra has worked in the Y-care since January 2017. She is an amazing worker who shows a lot of pride in her work. She is very dependable, kind, and hard-working. Andra works with 3-year-olds, which is a very spirited group, full of personality and energy. She is involved with Pyramid Training, which is a three-year program directly working with a coach to further develop skills in working with children. Andra is making a difference in children’s lives and in our community! Thank you, Andra!
AUGUST 2020 ^ JAYDEN KUMM
The Fremont Family YMCA is proud to have Jayden Kumm as part of our community! Jayden is one of the awesome employees who work in the Hazel Keene Wellness Center. He goes above and beyond with everything he does. He is welcoming and kind to our members. When we started offering fitness classes via Zoom, he became the technical advisor who set up for the early morning classes. He works hard to keep the YMCA clean and safe for all. You will see his smiling face during the 5am shift, which takes an extra special person to wake up that early! Thank you, Jayden!
SEPTEMBER 2020 ^ STEPHANIE MATSUMURA
The YMCA would like to recognize one of our many amazing front desk staff! Stephanie Matsumura started working at the YMCA at the beginning of 2020, right before COVID-19 hit. She has been willing to adapt to additional duties and changes during this difficult time and truly has made a difference at the front desk with members, nonmembers, parents, kids, and guests. She knows all of our Y kids and parents by name and is kind in her interactions with everyone. Stephanie is very reliable and trustworthy. The Fremont Family YMCA is so blessed to have her as part of our community!
OCTOBER 2020 ^ ANDREA NEAHOUS
The Fremont Family YMCA would like to recognize Andrea Neahous for her kindheartedness and dedication to caring for kids at the Y. Andrea (AKA “Moana”) has been working at the YMCA since August 2017. She is our site director for the Before & After School program at Howard Elementary. On top of that, she is currently student teaching there, so she is in the school building from 6 AM-6 PM! Her kind, sweet, compassionate personality makes it easy for kids to love her! Thank you, Andrea, for being a part of our YMCA community!
NOVEMBER 2020 ^ CATHY ROSS
Cathy Ross has worked at the YMCA for over 40 years, helping with several different programs and working in a multitude of areas of the Y. Cathy currently spends most of her time at the Y in the Dillon Family Aquatics Center. She works at the front desk, kindly helping people with a big smile! She is always willing to lend a helping hand and is very gracious about covering open shifts. She is an assistant coach for the Special Olympics swim team, where she helps teach over 15 swimmers twice per week. The kids all LOVE Cathy as a coach. Cathy leads the CPR and Lifeguarding certification classes, which is a big help to consistently add staff to our aquatics team. Thank you, Cathy, for being such an integral part of our YMCA community!
ASHLEY SCHLIEKER ^ DECEMBER 2020
The YMCA would like to recognize Ashley Schlieker, one of our many outstanding child care staff members. Ashley does an amazing job working with the 4 & 5-year-olds in Y Care. She is willing to go anywhere she is needed, and often helps when the Y needs extra staff to cover a shift. In addition, she recently enrolled in college to study Early Childhood Education in order to enhance her skills. Ashley is a very caring and sweet person who does a fantastic job building into our Y kids. Thank you, Ashley, for being an integral part of our YMCA community!
