Wellness Center Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wellness Attendant at the Fremont Family YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined. This position is responsible for the safety of staff, members, and guests of the YMCA and assures that all YMCA rules, policies, and procedures are understood and followed.

HOURLY WAGE RANGE: $9.00  - $11.00

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1.  Fully knowledgeable of the daily wellness center functions and operations.
  2.  Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and staff; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
  3.  Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  4.  Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
  5.  Must be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about overall wellness, resistance, and cardio training; coaches members in support of their desired behavior change.
  6.  Ability to work independently with a high level of attention to detail.
  7.  Complete and maintain CPR and First Aid training within 90 days of hire.
  8.  Recommends new members to group exercise classes based on their goals.
  9.  Is knowledgeable and can answer member questions to support their goals.
  10.  Uses tools and information available to increase member knowledge on overall wellness.
  11.  Maintains and cleans equipment according to schedules and checklists provided.
  12.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Member Services Representative

A Member Services Representative maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that respects all individuals. The Member Services Representative responds to member and guest needs and promotes membership and programs.

Pay Rate:  $9.00-$11.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responds to the individual needs of the member or guest.
  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area of the facility.
  • Conducts interviews and or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members and helps members connect to both the Y and each other.
  • Serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting members; invites members to get involved and give back to the community.
  • Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs the supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Applies all YMCA policies applicable to member services.
  • Is knowledgeable about YMCA program offerings and registration.
  • May assist with training of new hires in member services.
  • Knowledge and execution of emergency procedures.
  • Manage communication for The Big Give, United Way, and Annual Campaign Drives.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Knowledge of computers and associated skills.

  •  Reliable transportation and on-site, regular weekend schedule required

Fall Sports Site Supervisor

  •  Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment, and possession of a strong sense of responsibility
  •  Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
  •  Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
  •  Indoor/outdoor environment, intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and running may be required
  • Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions required
  •  Reliable transportation and travel among branches and sports sites required
  •  On-site, regular schedule, including weekends, required

Responsibilities

Building Supervisors

This position will pay between $10-$11/hour. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the safety of staff, members, and guests of the YMCA to ensure that all YMCA rules, policies, and procedures are understood and followed.
Duties include, but are not limited to: visual monitoring of facility – both internally & externally, resolving differences between members and/or staff, conducting building tours, leading facility in emergency situations, providing physical support to all program areas as needed, securing the facility at the end of the shift and/or day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Fully knowledgeable of the daily building functions and program operations.
  2. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and staff; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
  3. Conveys information on all programs and schedules and as appropriate, refers members to other programs.
  4. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
  5. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment immediately to the immediate supervisor using a predetermined reporting method.
  6. High level of understanding and the ability to operate the various areas of building security and overall building functionality.

Before and After School Program Teachers

We are now hiring individuals to work in our before and after-school care program. Hours will be Monday-Friday 6:00-8:00a.m. and/or 3:15p.m.-6:00p.m. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and will complete an extensive background check. Housekeeping

The YMCA is currently hiring for part-time (20-25 hours per week) positions in our housekeeping department. Hourly wages will range from $10-11/hour. Gymnastics Instructor

The YMCA has immediate openings for gymnastics instructors for our progressive gymnastics classes. Only basic gymnastics knowledge is necessary. The Y will train and provide lesson plans. Child Care Workers

The YMCA is looking for fun, energetic people who love to work with children! We are now hiring for several shifts in childcare. Qualified applicants will undergo an extensive background check.
