Special Olympics Competitive Swimming
SPECIAL OLYMPICS COMPETITIVE SWIMMING
Swimming is one of the most popular sports in the world. Unlike other sports, swimming is a life skill that is taught, first to ensure safety, and secondly, for sports and competitive purposes. Special Olympics swimming covers a great variety of swimming skills, from short sprints to longer event and relays. Our Special Olympics competitive swim program successfully coaches swimmers of all abilities to be safe, strong and accomplished competitors all the while having a lot of fun at practice! Please contact Dian Christensen at 402-753-9853, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Practices begin Tuesday, October 8 and end on Tuesday, May 19, 2020
Tuesday/Thursday - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Wednesday – 7-8 a.m.
Saturday - 10-11 a.m.
The pool is an olympic-sized, Myrtha Pool, in which the water height is the same height as the gutters, with no splash back to impede swimmers. It is one body of water with six 50-meter lanes running east and west, and 12, 25-yard lanes that will accommodate competitive and recreational swimmers at the same time. Due to its unique design, this competitive pool is the fastest in the state.
Adults will find a hot, comfortable sauna in both the men's and women's locker rooms in the main YMCA building that are open during regular building hours. These are dry saunas - PLEASE DO NOT ADD WATER. Use of the saunas is free with a Fremont Family YMCA membership.
HOT WATER SPA
Located in the Dillon Family Aquatics Center, this co-ed facility is the best way to relax after a hard workout. Adults (ages 18 and older) only.
A steam room can improve your health in several ways – improves circulation, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress, clears congestion, promotes skin health, aids in workout recovery, loosens stiff joints, burns calories and boosts the immune system. Be sure to check out the steam room located in the Dillon Family Aquatics Center (ages 18 and older only).
